What is the Newfoundland's Express Entry Skilled Worker Stream?

This stream focuses on skilled workers internationally who are willing to immigrate to the province and must have the right set of skills which are able to meet the labor shortages in the province. Foreign national must have a job offer from an eligible Newfoundland employer or must be working in the province on a valid work permit.

What is the eligibility criteria?

Age 21-59 years old
Active Profile (Express Entry) Not required
Education Post-secondary education
Job Offer Required – 2 year job offer from an eligible employer
Language Skills CLB 4
Work Experience Minimum 1 year work experience under NOC 0,A or B
Work Permit 4 months validity or must be eligible to apply for work permit

Who is an eligible employer for job offer purposes?

Its important not only the employer must demonstrate the need for the skill set they are offering a job offer but also, the employer must meet the provincial government’s criteria. To learn more about employer criteria, please click here.

Is there a fee to apply under this stream?

Yes, there’s a fee of $250 CAD to submit your application on the provincial government’s webpage.
