What is the Business Investor Stream - Entrepreneur Pathway?

This stream provides an opportunity for permanent residency to foreign nationals who are interested in setting up a business in Manitoba which contributes to Manitoba’s economic targets. This stream allows the provincial government to recruit applicants internationally to start-up a new business or purchase an existing business in Manitoba.

Exploratory visitRequired if purchasing an existing business
Net worth$500,000 CAD 

Note- Please note that exploratory visit is NOT required if you are establishing a new business.

 

What is the application process?

Step 1 - Self assessment & Business Research

The interested applicant will fill out the self-assessment form and will be assigned a score based on your answers.

Step 2 - Submission of your expression of interest

Your Expression of interest will be submitted to the provincial government at MPNP-BusinessStream@gov.mb.ca
You will send complete copy of the self-assessment form, business concept form and MPNP Code of conduct.

Step 3 - Receive an LAA and submit your complete application

Once you receive your LAA (Letter of advice to apply), you will submit a complete application and pay processing fee of $2,500 CAD.

Step 4 - Assessment of your application

Your application will be assessed by the two separate officers of the provincial government. If accepted, your will sign a business performance agreement.

Step 5 - Establish your business in Manitoba and implement the business performance agreement

You will be able to apply for a work permit once your application is accepted and business performance agreement is signed. You will travel to Manitoba and start your business.

Step 6 - Nomination

If you have implemented everything according to the business performance agreement, the province will nominate you.
