MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH: IRCC ANNOUNCES TARGETTED DRAWS FOR 82 OCCUPATIONS!

This year, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has made the decision to initiate occupation-based draws through its Express Entry immigration selection system. The draws will focus on up to 82 occupations in five fields, with the aim of addressing labour shortages.

This draws will also prioritize candidates who possess exceptional proficiency in the French language.

What does this mean?

If an individual possesses over 6 months of continuous work experience in any of the occupations enlisted below and satisfies the eligibility requirements for the federal skilled worker class immigration category, then the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) may accord priority to the individual based on their professional experience and educational qualifications.

Which categories are chosen?

IRCC has targeted the following categories for the current year.

  1. French-language proficiency
  2. Healthcare occupations
  3. Science,Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) occupations
  4. Trade occupations
  5. Transport occupations
  6. Agriculture and Agri-Food Occupations
