Express Entry

An Express Entry is a system used by the Canadian government to access and manage Canadian permanent residence applications. It is also used for filling labor gaps through the integration of economic immigration programs. Canada as a nation welcomes approximately 110,000 workers who have the skills through the Express Entry system every year.

The Express Entry is an online system that manages immigration applications from skillful workers.

The Immigration programs that are managed through the Express Entry can be categorized into following three sections:

The Canadian Experience Class

This category is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience. It requires one year of work experience in the previous 3 years.

Federal Skilled Worker Program

For this category, the workers should have the essential skills and international work experience. Also, the applicants should pass the criteria of education.

Federal skilled Trade program

In this category, the workers should have qualifications in skilled trading and valid occupation offers or a certificate of qualification in a trade skill issued by a government authority in Canada.

PNP

The Canadian Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) grant Canadian permanent residence to individuals who wish to settle into a specific Canadian province or territory. Every Canadian province and territory operate its PNP which is designed to meet certain economic and demographic needs. When nominated, the province will grant the nominee the offer electronically. The nominee will therefore accept the offer and provide a response to the province. In both incidences, it is recommended that one meets all the eligibility requirements of the province which has issued the offer. The Express Entry profile should be submitted and the nominee should meet at least the minimum requirements in the criteria for Express Entry.

To get a nomination by a province or territory, you must follow the guidelines on their website and be in contact with them directly.
