What is the Alberta Express Entry Stream?
Alberta express entry program is an invitation-based stream which selects people for the Express Entry pool of eligible candidates based on their experience, skills and provincial connection which support Alberta’s economic targets.
Candidates who have a provincial connection (job offer, close relative or work experience) are given more priority. This stream is quite unique when comparing to other provincial streams since it has a history of giving ITA to foreign nationals with a low CRS score. Please refer to the draws on the Government of Alberta’s website to see the lowest ranked individual who has been given a Notification of Interest.
What are the eligibility requirements for this program?
In order to be eligible for this program, you must meet the following requirements shown on the table below.
Most importantly, you MUST quality for Express entry stream in order to be considered for this program.

You must have a CRS score of 300 minimum and have experience in a skill which the provincial government requires in order to support their economic targets.
You must indicate on your express entry profile that you would like to immigrate to Alberta.
How can I apply for this program?
In order to apply for this stream, you must first create an Express Entry profile. Most importantly, you must choose Alberta as your desired location on your express entry profile. You must wait until the provincial government issues a NOI (Notification of Interest).
What happens If my profile is selected by the provincial government?
If your profile is selected, you will issued a Notification of Interest (NOI). You will be required to submit a complete application with all the required documents to the provincial government. If your application is approved, you will receive a notification on your IRCC account notifying you of the provincial nomination. Once you accept it, your overall CRS will be increased by 600 points which “almost” guarantees an ITA.
