How to Increase Your Chances of Employment in Canada While in the Express Entry Pool

How to Increase Your Chances of Employment in Canada While in the Express Entry Pool

Canadian economic immigration programs are crucial to the labor market, as they have driven much of the recent employment growth. Given this, Canadian firms sometimes combine employment activities with immigration programs to fill job gaps that indigenous individuals cannot fill. This connection is exemplified by companies’ ability to recruit Express Entry candidates. Employers have the opportunity to hire candidates directly from the Express Entry pool, which is a notable example of this linkage.

When are employers able to hire through the Express Entry System?

To hire Express Entry foreign nationals, companies must meet IRCC requirements. Include these:

  1. Canada’s TEER (Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibility) system must classify the position as skilled work, specifically in NOC categories 0, 1, 2, or 3. The employment process for skilled labor begins here.
  2. To be considered for domestic hiring, employers must demonstrate that they cannot fill the position with Canadian workers. You must demonstrate this by posting job advertisements on the Government of Canada’s Employment Bank website and other channels.

How do employers hire through Express Entry?

Employers use the “Job Match” section of the national Job Bank to find qualified candidates and issue Express Entry job offers. The Job Bank is a comprehensive employment site with job ads, career planning tools, labor market data, and more.

The system’s Job Match feature matches employer job ads with compatible profiles. Employers can examine these candidates for open positions. Job Match checks all Job Bank profiles, including Express Entry profiles.

A business may need a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to hire an Express Entry foreigner. An LMIA must offer a positive or neutral judgment to evaluate the possible impact of hiring a foreign person on the Canadian labor market. LMIAs are not always necessary. After obtaining the LMIA (if necessary), the employer can make an Express Entry-compliant employment offer.

To consider newcomers for jobs in the Express Entry Pool, follow these steps:

  • Valid Express Entry Profile: Express Entry newcomers might boost their job prospects by using Job Match. They must have a valid Express Entry profile, a number, and a job seeker validation code. This begins the procedure.
  • Job Match Login: In addition to your Job Bank account, you must also create a Job Match account. To complete the job match setup, they must input their Express Entry information.

After submitting an Express Entry profile, the IRCC issues a job seeker validation code, allowing candidates to search for jobs in Canada. Candidates who do not receive this code should contact the IRCC for assistance.

We will match newcomers with Job Bank job postings once they link their accounts. Only vacancies posted for more than 30 days will be visible to Express Entry applicants. For Express Entry and Job Match account integration issues, follow the platforms’ troubleshooting instructions.

These steps can help Express Entry newcomers navigate the Canadian employment market. This will boost their immigration and job prospects.
