Agriculture and Agri-Food Occupations Canada

Canada's agricultural industry seeks experienced professionals in:

  • Butchery and meat processing
  • Food production and safety
  • Farm management and operations

As of 2026, Agriculture and Agri-Food is not a current Express Entry category. IRCC’s current occupation-based categories include healthcare and social services, STEM, trades, education and transport. Butchers – retail and wholesale (NOC 63201), previously associated with Agriculture and Agri-Food, are currently listed under the Trades category. For the Trades category, candidates need at least 12 months of full-time work experience, or an equal amount of part-time experience, within the past three years in a single listed occupation. The experience can be in Canada or abroad and does not need to be continuous. Candidates must also meet minimum Express Entry criteria and the requirements of the invitation round. See MAK’s current Express Entry categories page for the current list.
