How MAK helpsThe Manitoba Farm Investor Pathway, part of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program’s Business Investor Stream, is for experienced farmers who will invest in and operate a farm in rural Manitoba. It is open in 2026 and is currently run through a paper-based interim process while Manitoba updates its online system. It is different from the Manitoba Entrepreneur Pathway, which is for non-farm businesses.
The pathway generally looks for several years of farm ownership or operation experience, a minimum farm investment in a rural Manitoba farm, a deposit on nomination, and a verified net worth confirmed by a third party. Language and other conditions also apply. Because thresholds and the interim process can change, confirm the current requirements before you apply.

This pathway fits experienced farmers who genuinely intend to invest in and operate a rural Manitoba farm, who can document their farm experience and a legal source of funds, and who meet the net worth and investment conditions.
It is not for passive investors, for non-farm businesses, or for applicants without genuine farm experience. Applicants interested in a non-farm Manitoba business should look at the Manitoba Entrepreneur Pathway or the International Student Entrepreneur Pilot, where eligible.
You submit your expression of interest and application through the current paper-based interim process, with your net worth verified by a designated third party. If approved, you sign the program’s agreement, obtain support for a work permit where applicable, move to rural Manitoba, and invest in and operate the farm. After meeting the conditions, Manitoba can nominate you, and you then apply federally for permanent residence.
Because your net worth is verified and your farm investment is assessed, the strongest applications pair a clean, documented and legal source of funds with a realistic farm plan. Our work combines a licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant with a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, Ontario, C83028834), so the financial evidence, the net worth documentation, and the farm plan are prepared to the standard Manitoba evaluates.
Applications commonly run into trouble when farm experience is not documented, when the source of funds or net worth verification is incomplete, or when the farm investment plan is not credible. Each of these requires full review.
MAK works with licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants and a CPA. We confirm whether your farm experience and funds fit the Farm Investor Pathway, prepare the financial and farm documentation, manage the paper-based interim process, and keep the file compliant.
