There are two different questions behind “Am I eligible for Express Entry?” First, you must qualify for at least one program managed by Express Entry. Second, your profile must be competitive enough to receive an invitation. This quick check screens the profile factors that influence those two questions and tells you what deserves a formal review next.
2026 Express Entry Quick Check
Seven factors. Instant result. No lead form.
What the Seven Factors Tell You
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Age | Age affects CRS human-capital points. |
| Education | Education can affect both program eligibility and CRS; foreign credentials may need an ECA. |
| Skilled work | FSW, CEC and FST each apply different work-experience tests. |
| Canadian work | One year of qualifying Canadian skilled work can make CEC worth a formal review and can also affect CRS. |
| English | Language thresholds affect program eligibility and CRS. |
| French | NCLC 7 in all four abilities is the current minimum for the French-language category. |
| 2026 category fit | Category-based selection can change which invitation rounds you may compete in after you are in the Express Entry pool. |
Express Entry in 2026: What Changed
IRCC’s current category list includes French-language proficiency, healthcare and social services, STEM, trades, education, transport, physicians with Canadian work experience, senior managers with Canadian work experience, researchers with Canadian work experience and skilled military recruits. The renewed occupation categories now generally require at least 12 months of qualifying work experience in one listed occupation within the previous 3 years.
Category-based selection does not replace the underlying Express Entry programs. You still need to qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skilled Trades Program before IRCC can place you in the Express Entry pool.
What This Tool Does Not Decide
- Your exact CRS score
- Whether your duties support the NOC you plan to claim
- Whether you satisfy the full FSW 67-point selection grid
- The CEC language threshold for your exact TEER level
- FST job-offer or certificate-of-qualification requirements
- Admissibility, misrepresentation risk or document sufficiency
- Whether or when IRCC will invite you
Who Should Use This Quick Check?
Use it when you are trying to decide whether Express Entry deserves a closer look before you spend time building a profile. If you already know you are eligible and want to understand your ranking, use the official IRCC CRS tool. If you need a broader scan across Canadian immigration programs, use MAK’s full Immigration Scanner.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an official IRCC eligibility tool?
No. It is a private MAK screening tool. IRCC makes official eligibility and application decisions.
Does a strong result mean I will receive an invitation?
No. It means your answers contain stronger profile signals. Invitation rounds, CRS cut-offs, program eligibility and proof still need separate review.
Is this a CRS calculator?
No. Use IRCC’s official CRS calculator for a score estimate.
Do I need Canadian work experience?
Not for every Express Entry program. Canadian work experience is central to CEC and is also relevant to CRS and certain 2026 categories.
What should I do after the result?
Verify the exact underlying program, calculate CRS and make sure the documents support every factor you plan to claim.
