Recently, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has implemented modifications to the language proficiency prerequisites for this specific study stream, resulting in increased flexibility. This modification enables individuals from other countries to avail themselves of the SDS stream with enhanced convenience and adaptability, particularly for people whose first language is not English.
It is required that you provide the outcomes of a language assessment that is recognised as valid, encompassing evaluations of all four language proficiencies, namely speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
In order to be considered eligible for the SDS, it is imperative that the language examinations be undertaken in their conventional in-person format. Online examinations will not be deemed acceptable.
Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test
You need a CAEL Test minimum score of 60 with results from all four language abilities.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic
You need an IELTS Academic OVERALL score of 6.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) General
You need an General minimum score of 6 with results from each of the four language abilities.
Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic
You need a PTE Academic minimum score of 60 with results from all four language abilities.
