If your Canadian study permit application was denied, IRCC does not offer an appeal. You can reapply by providing fresh proof that addresses the reasons for your initial rejection. Important facts to consider when reapplying for a study pass include:
Send your reapplication when
You can apply for a new study permit whenever your Proof of Acceptance Letter (PAL) is valid. If it has no expiration date, your PAL is valid until January 21, 2025. To avoid issues, please send your reapplication before your PAL finishes.
Prepare for reapplication.
Before returning, check your paperwork and consider the following:
Valid PAL: When IRCC receives your new application, make sure your PAL is valid. Processing does not require it to be legitimate.
Strengthening your application: There is no official appeal, so address the issues highlighted in your first denial. Consider getting notes from the Global Case Management System (GCMS) to
learn more about the refusal than what was in the letter.
Providing New Evidence: When reapplying, submit fresh information or evidence that answers your first application’s questions. If your initial rejection stemmed from uncertainty about your return home after school, you could demonstrate your ties to your home country. This could
include a home, a career, or family duties.
By thoroughly addressing the issues from your previous application and submitting a well- supported new application, you increase your chances of a successful outcome.
