Canada was ranked second globally by U.S. News & World Report. The rankings were determined through a survey conducted by WPP, a global corporation specializing in marketing and communications services, in collaboration with the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. More than 17,000 participants from various countries provided ratings for nations based on 73 different criteria.
The 10 thematic sub rankings of nation qualities included adventure, agility, cultural impact, entrepreneurship, heritage, and movers, open for business, power, quality of life, and social purpose.
The overall scores were determined by assigning weights to sub ranking results based on the respective country’s GDP. The sub rankings that were correlated with wealth were given greater weight. Switzerland remains the global leader for the second consecutive year. It ranked first in the “open for business” sub ranking and placed within the top 10 in four additional categories.
In 2022, Canada ascended from third place to surpass Germany, becoming the second-ranked nation. Canada received high scores for its agility, which refers to its capacity to effectively execute tasks, embrace contemporary approaches, and adjust to evolving circumstances.
